Doxylamine Succinate

Doxylamine succinate is a first-generation antihistamine of the ethanolamine class. It has strong sedative and anticholinergic properties. By blocking histamine (H1) receptors and acetylcholine in the body, it effectively induces drowsiness and aids sleep onset.

Dosage by Body Weight

For adults and children 12 years of age and older, the typical dose is 25 mg taken orally once daily, 30 minutes before bedtime. Continuous use as a sleep aid should not exceed 2 weeks unless directed by a doctor. Not recommended for children under 12 years of age for insomnia.
